Requirements of Supporting Documents for Domestic Helpers Applying for Visas

 

For domestic helpers employed by Hong Kong residents applying for visas, the following documents have to be submitted:

1.   The domestic helper’s Hong Kong ID (original and photocopy) and the latest Hong Kong visa (original and photocopy). Please be advised that the domestic helper’s Hong Kong visa should be no less than 3 months.

2.   The employer’s Hong Kong ID (original and photocopy).

3.   The Employment contract (original and photocopy).

4.   Guarantee letter issued by the employer. Please be advised that the letter has to be signed by the employer and the signature has to be the same to the employer’s signature on the employment contract.

The guarantee letter should contain the following points:

a)   The purpose of the domestic helper’s visiting mainland China, the detailed address in mainland China, entry and departure dates and duration of stay.

b)  Times of the domestic helper’s planned visits to mainland China (once, twice, or multiple times during a given period of time).

c)   The employer guarantees that he/she will enter and exit mainland China together with the domestic helper.

d)  The employer guarantees that the domestic helper will abide by laws of China and will not engage in activities not in conformity with the purpose of the visa.

5.   Guarantee letter issued by the domestic helper. Please be advised that the letter has to be signed by the domestic helper and the signature has to be the same to the domestic helper’s signature on the employment contract.

The guarantee letter should contain the following points:

b) Times of planned visits to mainland China (once, twice, or multiple times during a given period of time).

c) The domestic helper guarantees that he/she will enter and exit mainland China together with the employer.

d) The domestic helper guarantees that he/she will abide by laws of China and will not engage in activities not in conformity with the purpose of the visa.
