Office Spokesperson Addresses Questions from the Press
2017/06/08

Question: Recently, the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the US State Department issued the Review of Key Developments in Hong Kong. What is your view on that?

Spokesperson: This year marks the 20th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to the motherland. Over the past two decades, the Chinese Central Government has acted in strict accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law. The principles of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people administrating Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy have been faithfully implemented. Hong Kong has maintained its prosperity and stability and has been ranked number one in global listings such as the world competitiveness list and human freedom index. The remarkable achievement of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong is widely recognized.

Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China. Hong Kong affairs are entirely China's domestic affairs which no foreign country has any right to interfere in.
