Office Spokesperson Addresses Questions from the Press
2017/10/07

Question: The US Congressional-Executive Commission on China issued the 2017 Annual Report yesterday, with some of its content relating to Hong Kong. What is your comment?

Spokesperson: Over the past 20 years since Hong Kong's return, the Chinese Central Government has acted in strict accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law. The principles of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people administrating Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy have been successfully implemented in Hong Kong. The city's rule of law level has greatly improved, and its residents' rights and freedoms have received full respect and protection.

We urge the relevant foreign institutions to give up their prejudice, respect the facts, and stop the erroneous acts of discrediting the rule of law in Hong Kong and interfering in the Hong Kong affairs and China's domestic affairs.
