Yang Wenchang

      Born in 1944 in Shandong province, Mr. Yang Wenchang was a graduate from Beijing Foreign Langue Studies University.

 

      1972-1974, Attache in the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; 1974-1979, Attache in the Chinese Embassy in France; 1979-1984, Attache, later Second Secretary and Deputy Division Chief in the Department of International Conferences; 1984-1987, Deuty Division Chief, Division chief with the Department of Personnel; 1987-1990, Deputy Director General of the Department of Personnel; 1990-1994, Director General of the Department of Personnel; 1993-1995, Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of China to Singapore; 1997-1998, Assistant Foreign Minister; 1998-2003 Vice Foreign Minister; 2003-2006, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong SAR.

 

      Married, with a son.
