Commissioner Lü Xinhua met and gave banquet to President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau of Fiji at the Commissioner's Office on March 31 2010. Deputy Commissioner Zhan Yongxin, Fiji's Ambassador to China Sir James Ah Koy, Fiji's Honorary Consul in Hong Kong Dr. Desmond Lee and members of the Fiji Rugby Sevens attended the event.

Commissioner Lü warmly welcomed the president to his Office, and hailed the long-standing friendship between China and Fiji as well as the sound and steady growth of bilateral ties since the establishment of diplomatic ties over 30 years ago. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Chinese Government to the growth of the important cooperative partnership with Fiji and the furtherance of friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in all fields.

President Nailatikau thanked Commissioner Lü for his hospitality and praised the achievements China's Mainland and the Hong Kong SAR have attained in development. He also had cordial and friendly talks with the commissioner on other topics of shared interest.
