On December 18, 2020, Commissioner Xie received via video a courtesy call from outgoing CG of Peru Mr. Sergio Manuel Avila Traverso, and new CG of Mongolia Mr. Gundegmaa Jargalsaikhan, CG of Iran Mr. Alireza Esmaeilzadeh, CG of Venezuela Ms. Ana Dubraska Garcia and CG of Egypt Mr. Amr Wafik Mohamed.

Commissioner Xie thanked Mr. Traverso for his positive contribution to Peru's practical cooperation with Hong Kong and relations with China as a whole, welcomed the four new CGs to their new posts, and exchanged views on the five countries' relations with China and cooperation with the HKSAR. Commissioner Xie encouraged the five countries to continue to firmly support "One Country, Two Systems", and China's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and security and maintain Hong Kong's stability and prosperity; and to seize the historic opportunities unleashed by China's new development era and paradigm and greater success of "One Country, Two Systems", to participate more in China's reform and opening-up, the Belt and Road initiative, the Greater Bay Area, and mutually beneficial cooperation and integrated development between the mainland and Hong Kong, in pursuit of win-win results and common prosperity. Commissioner Xie also encouraged the five CGs to continue to play a constructive role in enhancing their countries' friendship with China and practical cooperation with Hong Kong.

Mr. Traverso expressed gratitude to Commissioner Xie and the Commissioner's Office for support and assistance during his tenure. The five CGs reiterated their countries' commitment to supporting "One Country, Two Systems" and China's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and security. They also expressed wishes for Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability, and their readiness to boost practical cooperation with Hong Kong and contribute to bilateral relations with China at large.
