Commissioner Song Zhe met with Consul General of France in Hong Kong Arnaud Barthelemy

On December 3, Commissioner Song Zhe met with Consul General of France in Hong Kong Arnaud Barthelemy. The two sides exchanged views on China-France relations and China-EU relations.

Commissioner Song stated that China and France have a deep foundation of friendly relations. The Chinese side places expectation on the future of the new model of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. It is hoped that the two sides will make joint efforts to develop an even closer and vibrant China-France relations and China-EU relations. Hong Kong-France relationship is a key component of China-France relations. The two sides conduct close exchange and cooperation in economic, trade, culture, education and other fields. The development of Hong Kong-France relations will inject new vitality to the constantly lifting of exchange and cooperation between China and France. Arnaud Barthelemy stated that the French side attaches great importance to relations with China and values Hong Kong's standing and role in France-China economic cooperation and trade, confident that Hong Kong will continue its prosperity and stability under the policy of "one country, two systems". The French General Consulate in Hong Kong is willing to continue the close communication and cooperation with the Commissioner's Office and work together to take France-China relations and EU-China relations to a new level.

Commissioner Song introduced the spirit of the third plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee, China's relevant policies to deepen reform and the successful practice of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong, and stated the position of Chinese side on the constitutional development in Hong Kong.
