2009-06-30

Over 70 high school teachers and students from nine schools in Hong Kong organized by the Hok Yau Club visited the Commissioner’s Office on 30 June.

Deputy Commissioner Zhan Yongxin welcomed the visiting teachers and students, and interacted with them through a presentation on China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commissioner’s Office, China’s foreign policies and Hong Kong related diplomacy, and answered their questions. The guests also saw the photo exhibition on China’s diplomatic achievements and pieces of art on display in the Commissioner’s Office.

Organizers of the Hok Yau Club thanked the deputy commissioner for receiving them, and expressed the view that the visit helped the young students enhance their understanding of China’s conduct of diplomacy and achievements on this front, which serves to foster their identity with their motherland and inspire them to work harder to become a useful person in future.
