Commissioner Lü Xinhua and Mme. Zhang Jingya invited new foreign consuls general who arrived in Hong Kong in the first half of 2010 and their spouses to dinner at the Commissioner’s Office on July 2. The CGs of Czech, Nepal, the United States, Italy, Poland and Peru, together with their spouse or family member, as well as Doyen of the Consular Corps, the CG of the United Arab Emirates, attended the event. Deputy Commissioner Gao Yuchen and other colleagues from the Commissioner’s Office accompanied the guests.

On behalf of the Commissioner’s Office, Commissioner Lü Xinhua welcomed the foreign CGs to Hong Kong to serve their post, and promised to provide facilitation to them in their work. The foreign CGs, on their part, thanked the commissioner for the dinner, which they believed, helped with understanding and dialogue between the consular corps and the Commissioner’s Office that would benefit their work in Hong Kong, and that they would continue the contact and cooperation with the Commissioner’s Office and take an active part in events organized by the Commissioner’s Office for the consular corps.
