Dai Bingguo Meets with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Steinmeier

On June 13, 2008, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met in Beijing with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Dai said China, as a developing nation, sticks to reform and opening up and a road to peaceful development with friendly cooperation with all countries in the world. China is ready to work with Germany in the spirit of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit to push forward bilateral ties. China supports the European integration process and is firmly committed to enhancing China-EU cooperation.

Steinmeier said Germany supports China's modernization drive as well as the country's peaceful development. Germany is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in a wide range of areas. Germany resolutely adheres to the one-China policy and is opposed to any attempt to separate China, said Steinmeier, wishing the Beijing Olympic Games a success.
