Special Envoy of President Hu Jintao Meets with Kyrgyz President
2011-12-02

On December 1, 2011, Ismail Tiliwaldi, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) and a special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao, met with Kyrgyz new President Almazbek Atambayev. Ismail Tiliwaldi was here in Bishkek for Kyrgyz President's inaugural ceremony.

Ismail Tiliwaldi first conveyed the warm congratulations and good wishes from President Hu Jintao to Atambayev for his assumption of office as President of Kyrgyzstan. He said the traditional friendship between both peoples has a long history. He said the good-neighborly and cooperative ties between the two countries have enjoyed steady and sound development since the establishment of diplomatic ties nearly 20 years ago. The two nations have maintained close high-level contact, deepened their political mutual understanding and conducted fruitful cooperation in various fields, said Ismail Tiliwaldi. China appreciates Kyrgyzstan's adherence to the positive and friendly policy towards China and is willing to be Kyrgyzstan's good neighbor, good friend and good partner. China will as always stick to the friendly policy to Kyrgyzstan and respects the Kyrgyz people's rights to independently choose the path of development. China is ready to join hands with Kyrgyzstan to further promote bilateral pragmatic cooperation in multiple areas to higher levels, he added.

President Atambayev thanked President Hu for sending Vice Chairman Ismail Tiliwaldi as special envoy to his inauguration ceremony. He said Kyrgyzstan cherishes China's constant support, and hopes to promote bilateral relations with China in all aspects. Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China's position on issues concerning Taiwan and Tibet, said Atambayev, adding it would like to cooperate with China in cracking down on the "three evil forces" of separatism, extremism and terrorism. Atambayev said he likes Chinese history and culture and asked Ismail Tiliwaldi to convey to President Hu his willingness to work with the Chinese side in pushing forward bilateral ties.

Ismail Tiliwaldi thanked for Atambayev's meeting and wished Kyrgyzstan prosperity and stability and its people happiness under the leadership of President Atambayev.
