Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun Meets with the DPRK Ambassador to China

On March 16, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun set up a meeting with the Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to China Ji Jae Ryong to exchange opinions on the China-DPRK relations and the Korean Peninsula situation and express concerns and worries about the DPRK's announcement of launching satellite in mid-April.

Zhang said that the Chinese side has noticed the DPRK's related plan and the reaction of the international community and believes that it is the common responsibility and serves the interests of all parties concerned to maintain peace and stability on the Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. We sincerely hope relevant parties to remain calm, exercise restraint and avoid bigger complexity caused by the escalation of situation.
