Commissioner Liu Guangyuan Met Outgoing CG of Qatar

On 27 July 2021, Commissioner Liu Guangyuan met with outgoing CG of Qatar Mr. Mohammed Sultan Al-Kuwari.

Commissioner Liu exchanged views with CG Kuwari on China-Qatar relations and Hong Kong-Qatar cooperation, and expressed the hope that Qatar will seize opportunities from the development of China and the HKSAR and work with China to achieve win-win cooperation and common development. He commended CG Kuwari for his contributions to exchanges and cooperation between Qatar and the HKSAR in economic, trade, cultural and other fields during his tenure in Hong Kong, and encouraged the Consulate General of Qatar in Hong Kong to continue to focus on practical cooperation and friendly exchanges between Qatar and the HKSAR.

CG Kuwari thanked the Commissioner's Office for support and assistance rendered to him, reiterated his country' support for One Country, Two Systems and the commitment of the Consulate General to advancing cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between Qatar and Hong Kong and to supporting Qatar enterprises in participating in the Belt and Road cooperation and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He also expressed wishes for greater development of China and long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
